Nature and sports activities

Outdoor sports activities all year round… the Costa Blanca is a paradise for swimmers, bikers, sailors, surfers, joggers, tennis players, horse riders, etc. … and all year round! All year round, because it is sunny and almost never cloudy in winter and we are happy about the rare rain.

Swimmers, surfers, kayakers, etc. enjoy themselves on the sandy beaches stretching for miles with excellent water quality. The Costa Blanca has the highest water temperatures of all Spanish coasts, we are almost as south as the Andalusian Mediterranean coast, but we are spared from the cool Atlantic currents. I also swim in the sea in winter, only for longer swim distances a thin neoprene suit is recommended in the not hot season.

The Costa Blanca Tourism offers all kinds of sports facilities. The offer is very wide. My tip: The municipalities of the Costa Blanca are happy about tourists who “get lost” in their sports facilities. Mingle with the local sports folk. You are most welcome there.

I like to give tips on where to rent sports equipment and where training is the most fun. All recommendations come from me personally, one can run into me there at any time by chance, on the tracks and at the sports equipment rental.

Good service and friendliness are the most important criteria in our selection of specialist shops. If you are not served as nicely as I am used to, please let me know so that I can correct my recommendations accordingly.

For friends of horse-riding, the CLUB HIPIC BENISSA is the first address on the Costa Blanca. http://www.clubhipicobenissa.com/en/benissa-club-hipico-en-alicante They speak English, German, French and Spanish.

Also in Benissa is the professional bike shop of Pau Ibañez, which even offers road assistance during your bike tours. http://apedals.com/ Pau Ibañez speaks English, French and Spanish.
